The short version

  • We collect what we need to run a safe marketplace: your account details, your opportunities and proof, messages, location if you allow it, and payment and verification results from our providers.
  • We use AI to structure and screen opportunity text before it goes live.
  • We share information with the other party to an opportunity and with the service providers listed below. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • We use one essential session cookie. No ad trackers.
  • You can export your data and delete your account in settings. We keep some financial and legal records for as long as the law requires.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how [to be completed] (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares personal information when you use netWork, including our website, mobile apps, API, webhooks and MCP server (the “Service”).

It does not cover third-party services you use separately, such as Stripe's own dashboard or Checkr's candidate portal. Those are covered by their own privacy policies.

2. Information you give us

  • Account information: your name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), and phone number if you add one.
  • Profile information: display name, photo, bio and any other details you choose to add.
  • Opportunities: the result you want, reward, deadline, mode, location or address for in-person work, and any attachments.
  • Proof and uploads: photos, files, written results and handoff details you submit, including any metadata in those files such as the time and place a photo was taken.
  • Messages: the content of in-app messages between Posters and Hunters, and messages to our support team.
  • Reviews and reports: ratings, reviews and any problem reports you file.
  • API and agent information: API keys you create (we store them in a form we cannot read back), webhook URLs, and the requests your agents make.

3. Information from payment, identity and background check providers

Payments. Stripe processes payments and payouts. When you pay, Stripe collects your card details. We receive a token, the card brand, last four digits and expiration date, and the payment status. We never see or store your full card number.

Payouts and taxes. Hunters onboard with Stripe Connect. Stripe collects identity details, bank account details and tax information such as your Social Security number or taxpayer ID. We receive the status of your Stripe account and limited details needed to operate payouts. We do not store your full bank account number or taxpayer ID.

Identity verification. When verification is required, Stripe Identity collects images of your government ID and a selfie, and checks that they match. Stripe retains this data under its own policies. We receive the verification outcome and limited verified details, such as your verified name and date of birth.

Background checks. If you take part in a background check, Checkr collects your information and authorization directly and prepares a consumer report under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. We receive the result and status of the check. You have rights under the FCRA, which Checkr will explain, including the right to dispute inaccurate information.

4. Information collected automatically

  • Device and log data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, app version, pages and screens viewed, actions taken, referring page, and dates and times of activity.
  • Location: if you allow it, your device's precise location, which we use to show nearby opportunities and to support in-person opportunities. You can turn this off in your device settings at any time. We may also infer an approximate location from your IP address.
  • Error data: if the app crashes or hits an error, technical details about the error are sent to our error monitoring provider.
  • Cookies: we use one essential session cookie to keep you signed in and secure. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, pixels or third-party ad networks.

5. Information from other users

Other users may give us information about you, for example when they review you, report a problem with an opportunity you worked on, or mention you in a message.

6. How we use information

  • To provide the Service: create your account, post and show opportunities, match opportunities to nearby Hunters, run claims and hunts, deliver messages and process proof.
  • To process payments, holds, refunds and payouts, and to meet tax reporting requirements.
  • To keep the Service safe: screen opportunities, verify identity, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our rules, investigate reports and decide disputes.
  • To communicate with you: send account emails, opportunity updates, receipts and support replies. Transactional messages cannot be turned off while you have an account.
  • To fix, maintain and improve the Service, including debugging errors and measuring how features are used in aggregate.
  • To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and protect the rights, property and safety of our users, the public and [to be completed].
  • For any other purpose with your consent.

7. AI processing

When you post an opportunity, we send the opportunity text and related details to Anthropic, our AI provider, to turn it into a structured opportunity (for example, extracting the deadline and category) and to screen it against our rules. Agents connected through the API may also submit text that goes through the same process.

Anthropic processes this content as our service provider, only to deliver results back to us. We do not permit it to use that content to train its models.

Automated screening can allow, hold for staff review, or block an opportunity. If your opportunity is blocked or held and you think that is a mistake, contact us and a person will review it. We do not use AI alone to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects, such as permanently closing an account or deciding a payment dispute.

8. How we share information

With the other party to an opportunity. To make an opportunity work, we share information between the Poster and Hunter, such as display names, profile photos, ratings, verification badges, messages and proof. A Hunter sees an approximate location for an in-person opportunity before claiming it and the exact location or address once they have claimed or locked it. Phone numbers, emails and payment handles in messages are masked.

Publicly. Live opportunities, including their description, reward, deadline and approximate location, and your public profile and reviews, can be seen by other users and visitors.

With service providers. We share information with companies that process it on our behalf under contracts that limit their use of it:

  • Railway: hosting, database and file storage (United States).
  • Stripe: payments, payouts, identity verification and tax forms.
  • Resend: sending email.
  • Anthropic: AI that structures and screens opportunity text.
  • Checkr: background checks, only if one is run for you.
  • Sentry: error monitoring.

For legal reasons. We may share information if we believe it is required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of any person, to detect or prevent fraud, or to enforce our terms.

In a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that deal, subject to this policy.

With your consent or at your direction, for example when you connect an agent or tool to your account.

9. No sale or sharing for advertising

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We have not done so in the past 12 months.

We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

10. How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as your account is open and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep it:

  • Payment, payout, refund and tax records: 7 years, or longer if the law requires.
  • Records of opportunities, disputes, reports and enforcement actions: as long as needed to handle disputes, prevent fraud and repeat abuse, and defend legal claims.
  • Backups: deleted data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited time until they are overwritten.

Content you shared with another user, such as messages and proof, may remain visible to that user in their records of the opportunity.

Stripe and Checkr keep the data they collect under their own retention policies.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords and API keys, access controls and logging. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee security. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

12. Your choices and rights

  • Access and export: download a copy of your data from settings.
  • Correction: edit your profile and account details in settings, or contact us to correct other information.
  • Deletion: delete your account in settings. Some records are kept as described in Section 10.
  • Location: turn location access on or off in your device settings.
  • Email: transactional emails are required while you have an account. You can turn off optional emails in settings.

You can also make a request by emailing [to be completed]. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, usually by confirming control of your account email. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

13. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA), gives you additional rights. In the last 12 months we collected these categories of personal information, for the purposes in Section 6, and disclosed them to the recipients in Section 8:

  • Identifiers: name, email, phone, IP address, account ID.
  • Customer records and financial information: payment card brand and last four, payout account status (full numbers are held by Stripe).
  • Commercial information: opportunities posted, funded, completed and refunded.
  • Internet or network activity: log and device data.
  • Geolocation data: precise location if you allow it, and approximate location from IP.
  • Audio, electronic or visual information: photos and files you upload, and ID images and selfies collected by Stripe Identity.
  • Professional information: background check results, if a check is run.
  • Inferences: trust and fraud risk signals used to protect the Service.
  • Sensitive personal information: account login credentials, precise geolocation, and government ID details processed by Stripe. We use sensitive personal information only for purposes permitted by the CCPA, such as providing the Service, security and fraud prevention, and not to infer characteristics about you.

Your rights. You have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to access a copy; to delete it; to correct it; to opt out of sale or sharing; to limit use of sensitive personal information (we do not use it for purposes that require this right); and not to be discriminated against for using these rights.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out request for your browser.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent to make a request. We may ask for proof of the agent's authority and ask you to verify your identity directly.

To make a request, use settings or email [to be completed]. We respond within the time required by law.

Shine the Light. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

14. Other US state privacy rights

Residents of other states with consumer privacy laws, including Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Virginia, may have similar rights to access, correct, delete and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising and certain profiling. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

To make a request, use settings or email [to be completed]. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line “Privacy appeal”. If you are not satisfied with the result of the appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.

15. Children

The Service is only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it and close the account. If you believe a minor is using the Service, contact [to be completed].

16. International users

The Service is available only in the United States. Information is stored and processed in the United States. If you access the Service from elsewhere, you understand that your information will be processed under US law.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The version and effective date at the top of this page show when it last changed.
